The Committee was established at the end of 2007 following the EBA Exporters & Importers Committee restructure.
The main objective of the EBA Customs Committee is to focus on all range of issues pertaining to customs control and customs clearance.
The Committee brings together exporters and importers as well as representatives of transport and forwarding companies facing different issues pertaining to customs control and customs clearance.
- For the year 2010 Mr. Vladimir Didenko (Magisters) was elected as Chairman of the Customs Committee.
The Committee meets on a bi-monthly basis. The Committee meetings stick to the second Friday of the month, 9:30.
The Customs Committee defined such priorities of work for 2010:

Improvement of customs valuation procedures based on the EU principle focusing on inclusion of royalties, transport , insurance costs and others into the customs value of imported goods, compliance with time limits for unscheduled post-audit procedures and cancellation of penalties for voluntary adjustment of customs value declaration or legal recognition that no penalties are applicable if declaration is made at the time of importation on fair and best possible base practically available at the time of importation;

Harmonisation of Ukraine's customs procedures and regimes with international and EU legislation (e.g. the Kyoto Convention and the Istanbul Convention on Temporary Admission) including the transit procedures in particular by means of adoption of the new Customs Code of Ukraine and amendments to the transit regulations. |
